La Croix is a large, detached villa with a private 10x5m pool situated overlooking the hamlet of St Front de Nizonne. This beautiful villa is comfortable, well equipped, tastefully furnished, and can easily accommodate 12 people in spacious rooms.

Entrance into La Croix through the front door leads into a large hall with cloakroom. To the left is a hallway leading to two double bedrooms, one of which can double up as an office (low internet connection available with a personal laptop) and a large bathroom with separate shower, twin wash basins and WC.

The newly, fitted kitchen with stainless steel appliances is to the right of the entrance hall, as is the beautifully furnished dining/sitting room with satellite TV (English and French channels). Another hallway leads from the sitting room to two further double bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms, two twin bedrooms, and a family bathroom. All bedrooms have a TV, either with basic satellite package or French channels.

French doors from the sitting room, kitchen and three bedrooms open out onto a large covered terrace situated at the front of the property, housing barbecue, and ample garden furniture for long leisurely meals al fresco! The front terrace has a lovely view overlooking the pretty French hamlet and its historically interesting church.  The garden contains hundreds of trees and flowering shrubs.

Patio doors from the back of the sitting room open out onto a second terrace and the 10x5m swimming pool. The back of the property overlooks countryside of meadows and woodland. You will also have underfloor heating for the winter which can be reversed during the summer to cool the interior of the house when it is very hot! The large French windows on the front and the back of the house make it bright and pleasant in all seasons.

The village of St Front de Nizonne is just 5 kms from Nontron and 15 kms from the beautiful island town of Brantome, with its fine Benedictine abbey and 11th century bell tower. Brantome also boasts a wide selection of restaurants, art exhibitions and various leisure/cultural events, shops, banks and a busy weekly market.

The town of Nontron proudly dominates the valley of the Bandiat. There are supermarkets, banks, restaurants, cafés, toy and puppet museum, and a lively Saturday morning market.

There are several chateaux open for visits nearby (Puyguilhem, Bourdeilles...), the prehistoric caves at Villars are also a must with their white stalactites and cave drawings dating back 17000 years. Rolling hills and forests surround the village giving ample opportunity for walking and cycling. Other local activities include fishing, canoeing, river swimming, tennis and boules.
