A typical french country house, full of character and charm.  It is set in well-tended, mature gardens, in a cluster of stone built houses known as the hamlet of Valay. This is a charming, well-kept family house with oak beams, tiled floors, chandeliers and traditional, hand-made, oak furniture.

The ground floor comprises:

·         A fully fitted kitchen with gas cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave oven and dishwasher

·         A lovely 'French style' dining/sitting room leading onto a stone terrace overlooking the garden and the swimming pool

·         Two double bedrooms  

·         Two single bedrooms·

·         A bathroom with bath, shower and vanity units

·         A separate wc

.         A laundry room with washing machine 

 

On the first floor you will find:

.    A small, quiet sitting area for anyone wanting a little privacy from the rest of the group

Outside

The well-tended lawns surround the house and beautiful flowering shrubs and trees provide shade in summer.

The huge swimming pool measures 14m x 6m and is fully fenced for the safety of children (as is the garden).  Sun beds and parasols are provided for relaxing and sunbathing.

There is a "summer kitchen" including a large brick-built barbecue for meals outside.

The location

Situated just 6 kms from Neuvic, where local amenities include a bakers, post office and small restaurant/bar. The nearby town of Mussidan (5 mins drive) has everything you need for all your holiday requirements. There are bakers, butchers, banks, supermarkets, restaurants, cafés, tourist Information centre and a lively Saturday morning market.

 

Leisure pursuits in this area include river swimming, fishing and bike hire. Canoe hire is available in the busy town of Riberac (20 mins) and 36 kms away at St Foy La Grande there is a large aqua park. An ideal base to explore the Bergerac and Bordeaux wine tasting routes and to visit the many prehistoric sites, chateaux and beauty spots that this region has to offer.
